If the proposed shared use agreement is approved, the school will have exclusive use of the oval from 8am - 4pm on school days. Community members will be asked to use alternate ovals in the area or make use of the oval before or after that timeframe.
Other ovals close by that can be used during these times include:
- Plume Gardens Park
- Babbler Park
- Shelduck Park
- Fairywren Park
- Whiteman Park
No physical changes will be made to the oval.
The school will have exclusive use of the oval during the agreed timeframes only. If the school would like to use the oval after these hours they would need to make a booking through the Facilities Bookings team at the City. This is the same booking that any community group would need to make if they wanted to book the oval for an activity.
There are several other places to take your dog in the area, including:
- Plume Gardens Park
- Babbler Park
- Shelduck Park
- Fairywren Park
Alternatively, you can take your dog to Bennett Springs Sportsfield Oval before 8am or after 4pm on a school day.
The start date will depend on approval from the Minister for Lands. That approval also hinges on the City's completion of this consultation process. We'll notify all survey respondents by email and update this project page as soon as we have news.
Shared use of the oval will improve health, social and educational outcomes.
Beechboro Christian School will also contribute towards maintenance costs including mowing, weeding, water and general upkeep.
