The Swan Valley local area includes the suburbs of Belhus, Henley Brook, Herne Hill, Millendon, and parts of Upper Swan, Brigadoon, Baskerville Middle Swan, West Swan and Caversham.
This is the first Local Area Plan (LAP) for this area.
The engagement period was from April 29 - May 31, 2024.

The Altone local area is located in the south west area of the City of Swan and includes the suburbs of Bennett Springs, Beechboro, Kiara, Lockridge and parts of Caversham and Whiteman.
This LAP is currently being implemented. It was last reviewed in 2021 and is planned to be reviewed again in 2026.

The Bullsbrook local area is located in the northern area of the City of Swan.
Consultation for the Bullsbrook Local Area Plan is now open until March 19, 2024

Located in the western portion of the City of Swan, the Ellenbrook local area includes the localities of Ellenbrook, The Vines, most of Aveley, part of Henley Brook and a portion of Upper Swan. This LAP is currently being implemented. It was last reviewed in 2022 and is planned to be reviewed again 2027.

The Gidgegannup Local Area consists of rural and rural-residential land occupying most of the northern and eastern areas of the City of Swan. The local area includes the suburbs of Gidgegannup, Red Hill and Avon Valley National Park.
The current version of the LAP was adopted in April 2024.

The Guildford/Hazelmere local area is located in the north east of Perth and includes the suburbs of Guildford, South Guildford, Hazelmere, Bushmead and part of the Perth Airport.
This LAP is currently being implemented. It was last reviewed in 2020 and is planned to be reviewed again in 2025.

The Malaga local area is located in the south west corner of the City of Swan and is approximately 650 hectares in area and provides an excellent location for light industry and service establishments

The Midland local area is located in the north east of Perth and includes the suburbs of Midland, Koongamia, Viveash and Woodbridge, the Southern part of Middle Swan, and parts of Midvale and Bellevue.
This LAP is currently being implemented. It was last reviewed in 2021 and is planned to be reviewed again in 2025.

The Upper Swan Local Area is located in the City's north and includes the suburbs of Upper Swan, Bullsbrook, Brigadoon, Baskerville and Walyunga National Park.
The most recent LAP was adopted in 2023.

The Swan View Local Area is located in the City's south east and includes the suburbs of Jane Brook, Stratton, parts of Midvale, and the portion of Swan View that is located within Swan's boundary. This LAP is currently being implemented. It was last reviewed in 2022.

The Whiteman Local Area previously known as an Urban Growth Corridor (UGC) is situated to the west of the Swan Valley and includes the suburbs of Brabham, Caversham, Bennett Springs, Dayton and Henley Brook.
